Warm light reflected across a polished concrete surface

Mint Garage / Polished concrete

Bring out the beauty in your concrete.

Explore polished concrete with Mint. Let’s discuss your slab, your space and the finish you have in mind.

01 / The finish

Concrete has a character of its own.

Light moves across the surface. The aggregate, tone and degree of sheen bring its natural variation into view.

These photographs illustrate the material’s natural variation; they do not represent fixed finish packages or promise an identical result for every slab.

02 / Planning the work

Start with the slab. Plan for the space.

A thoughtful finish begins with what is already there. We’ll talk through the existing slab, how the space is used and the appearance you want to achieve — then consider preparation, site access and timing together.

The surface

Existing condition, previous finishes and any repairs can influence the approach.

The intention

Tell us how the floor will be used and what you have in mind for its aggregate, tone and sheen.

The practicalities

Preparation, access, other works on site and your schedule all belong in the conversation.

Suitability and achievable results need to be assessed for each project. We won’t assume that every slab can produce the same finish.

03 / How we begin

A conversation, then a clear direction.

  1. 01

    Share your project

Tell us about the location, the space and the finish you’re considering.

  2. 02

    Discuss the slab and finish

We’ll explore what is known about the concrete and talk through your priorities.

  3. 03

    Agree the next steps

Together, we’ll identify what needs assessing and how to move the conversation forward.

Questions / Answers

Common questions

Can an existing concrete slab be polished?
Possibly. The slab's condition, previous treatments, repairs and intended use all matter. We start with the details of your existing floor and assess whether polishing is suitable for your project.
Can I choose the amount of aggregate and sheen?
Aggregate exposure and sheen can be discussed as part of the finish direction. What is achievable depends on the concrete itself and the preparation required; a photograph is a reference, not a guaranteed outcome.
What should I consider about preparation and timing?
Preparation needs vary with the slab. Access to the space, other trades and the project schedule also shape the work. Share your timing and any known site constraints so we can discuss the next steps.
What information helps you get started?
Tell us where the project is, how the space will be used, the approximate floor area and the appearance you have in mind. Photos or drawings of the slab are helpful if you have them.

05 / Your project

Discuss your project.

Every slab and every space has its own considerations. Tell us a little about yours and the finish you’re imagining.

Architects, designers, facilities teams and construction professionals are welcome to get in touch. We can discuss drawings or photographs when we follow up.
